Welcome to RG Naturfotographie
For me, nature photography is a hobby. It is a compensation for my professional work as a design engineer and offers me relaxation and the pleasure of being in the nature.
I made my first photographic attempts in my youth - first with the (roll-film) camera of my father, then with a 126 Instamatic camera.
Later I switched to a range finder camera, which was then replaced by a single lens reflex camera.
Over a longer period photography paused with me. It was not enough time because of my studies and my job. In 2009 I bought my first digital cam - a compact camera by Canon, but it was hardly used in the first years.
From 2012 it became more intense. Mainly because of the website to the Christophstal where I live now
The compact camera was followed by my first digital single lens reflex camera, a Canon EOS 600D.With that cam I preferred prime lenses. And sold an additional Canon EOS3, which is an analog cam and is used to a small extent by me.
In 2016, I replaced the 600D by a 5D III because of the better high ISO and the better autofocus system which is very helpful when shooting animals.
For me, nature photography consists of three parts: landscape, animals and plants
At first, my focus was on landscape photography, especially on waterfalls, with a few initial photographs of waterbirds and squirrels. I extended my photographic field of activity towards animal photography. In addition to birds, other vertebrate animals and insects. Finally, plants were added.
Most of my animal photos are taken in the wild. That means, the animals are relatively shy and it is always difficult to make good photos. Sometimes I also use wildparks, where it is relatively easy - some of the animals can even be stroked ...
Of course I edit my pictures. That means that I adjust the white balance, contrasts, sharpness and the image details. Sometimes I also remove something disturbing from the image. But I don't go through major edits which alter the image exytremely.
On these pages I show some of my shots.
Finally, a request:
Please do not download any pictures and claim them as your own.
